Chambersburg Hispanic American Center

Volunteers

Dr. Ruben Botello, Consultant (Webmaster)

The Chambersburg Hispanic American Center welcomes the help of volunteers. Volunteers come to us from a variety of settings such as the Chambersburg High School Spanish Club, local churches, area colleges, businesses and the neighborhoods surrounding CHAC headquarters.

Volunteers can: work in CHAC’s After-School Program to give children one-on-one help with their homework; work at CHAC’s headquarters to provide clerical and secretarial support; help with special events such as Cinco de Mayo and Hispanic Month; and assist with programs such as CHAC’s Mentoring Program and the "From School to College Project."

Most of the time, it is not necessary for volunteers to be able to speak Spanish. The exception is when volunteers interact with CHAC clients by staffing the desk temporarily when the director is out of the office to attend meetings or assist clients at other sites.

Please call 717-262-2480 if you are interested in volunteer opportunities.
